Replace Crankshaft Front Seal On Dodge Sprinter?

The details to replace Crankshaft Front Seal On Dodge Sprinter Van & Truck models.

The details are for 2.7L Engine and 3.0L Engine models.

The procedure is as follows:---

2.7L Engine
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to the following section, "Accessory Drive Belt, Removal & Installation.-
  3. Install the retaining lock for the crankshaft/ring gear.
  4. Remove the crankshaft damper.
  5. Using a suitable pry tool, remove the front crankshaft seal from the front cover.
To install:

Fig. Remove the seal (1) with a suitable pry tool. Then install it with Special Tool 8936 (2) washer (3) and retaining bolt (4)-2.7L Engine shown
  1. Install the front crankshaft seal using Special Tool 8936 Installer tool.
  2. Install the crankshaft damper. Tighten the bolt to 240 ft. lbs. (325 Nm) plus 90 degrees.
  3. Remove the retaining lock for the crankshaft/ring gear.
  4. Install the accessory drive belt.
  5. Refill the engine with oil to the correct level.
  6. Connect the negative battery cable.
  7. Start the engine and check for leaks.
3.0L Engines
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  3. Remove both front lower splash shields.
  4. Remove the transmission thermal bypass valve and the cooler lines between the block and transmission.
  5. Remove the starter blank.
  6. Install Special Tool 9102 Flywheel Locking Tool.
  7. Release the accessory drive belt tension by resetting the drive belt tensioner and installing a retaining pin.
  8. Remove the vibration damper bolt.
  9. Install Special Tool 9544 Crankshaft Damper Puller.
  10. Remove the vibration damper. 
    WARNING
    Use care when removing the crankshaft seal not to damage or gouge the timing chain cover.

  11. Using suitable seal puller, remove the front crankshaft seal.
To install:
  1. Install crankshaft oil seal using Special Tool 8936A Seal Installer.
  2. Align the alignment key in the crankshaft with the key way in the damper and install the crankshaft damper. Tighten the bolt to 224 ft. lbs. (304 Nm) plus 90 degrees.
  3. Position the accessory drive belt back onto the pulleys and release the belt tensioner.
  4. Remove Special Tool 9102 flywheel locking tool.
  5. Install the transmission thermal bypass valve and transmission cooler lines.
  6. Install both underbody splash shields.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Connect the negative battery cable.
  9. Start the engine and check for leaks.
