Oil Pressure Sensor Replacing for Chevrolet, Cadillac and GMC?

The details mentioned here covers following car models:----
Escalade, Suburban 1500 & 2500, Tahoe, Yukon, Yukon XL 1500 & 2500 (2006-2007), Yukon Denali and Yukon Denali XL (2005-2006).

The procedure here shows how to replace oil pressure sensor:----

Oil Pressure Sensor
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



Testing Oil pressure sensor:----




  1. Check the oil level and correct as necessary. Turn the ignition switch on, but do not start the engine.
  2. Disconnect the sensor lead at the sensor. The gauge should read full scale.
  3. Ground the connector. The gauge should read at the bottom of the scale.
  4. If the gauge functions properly, replace the sensor.




Removal & Installation



4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L & 6.2L Engines
  1. If necessary, remove the engine sight shield.
  2. Disconnect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector.
  3. Using J 41712 or equivalent, remove the oil pressure sensor.

To install:
  1. Apply sealant to the threads of the oil pressure sensor.
  2. Using J 41712 or equivalent, install the oil pressure sensor.
    1. Tighten the oil pressure sensor to 26 ft. lbs. (35 Nm).
  3. Connect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector.
  4. If necessary, install the engine sight shield.
8.1L Engine
  1. Remove the engine sight shield.
  2. Disconnect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector.
  3. Using J 41712 or equivalent, remove the oil pressure sensor.

To install:
  1. Apply sealant to the threads of the oil pressure sensor.
  2. Using J 41712 or equivalent, install the oil pressure sensor.
    1. Tighten the sensor to 22 ft. lbs. (30 Nm).
  3. Connect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector.
  4. Install the engine sight shield.
