The Procedure for 2.7L Engine and 3.0L Engine models.

Please Note that this Procedure Covers all U.S. and Canadian models of the Chrysler/Dodge Avenger, Chrysler Sebring Coupe and Dodge Stratus/ Stratus Coupe models for Year 1999 to 2005.

The procedure is as follows:---
2.7L Engine:---
  1. Properly relieve the fuel system pressure.
  2. Remove or disconnect the following:

    Negative battery cable
    Throttle body air inlet hose
    Air cleaner assembly
    Throttle cable shield
    Throttle and speed control cables
    Throttle cable bracket
Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor connector
    Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) connector
Idle Air Control (IAC) motor connector
    Manifold Tuning Valve (MTV) connector
    Vapor purge hose
    Brake booster vacuum hose
    Speed Control Servo
    Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) hose
Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) upper tube
    Upper throttle body support bracket
Upper intake manifold and discard the gasket
  3. To remove the lower intake manifold proceed as follows:
  4. Remove the fuel injector electrical connectors.
  5. Remove the fuel supply hose from the fuel rail.
  6. Remove the fuel rail support bracket.
  7. Remove the fuel rail and injectors as an assembly.

    MTV electrical connector
    Throttle cable bracket
    Throttle and speed control cables
    Throttle cable shield
    Throttle body air inlet hose
    Air cleaner assembly
    Negative battery cable
  3. Start the vehicle, check for leaks and repair if necessary.
--------
3.0L Engine
  1. Properly relieve the fuel system pressure.
  2. Remove or disconnect the following:

    Negative battery cable
    Intake manifold plenum
    Fuel injector connector
    Fuel supply and return hoses
    Vacuum hose
Fuel rail, injectors and pressure regulator as an assembly
    Insulators
    Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) hose
Right front upper timing belt cover and bracket
Intake manifold and discard the gasket To install:
  3. Clean all mating surfaces of any residual gasket material.
  4. Install or connect the following:

Intake manifold with a new gasket. Torque the nuts as follows:

    1. Right bank to 62 inch lbs. (7 Nm).
    2. Left bank to 16 ft. lbs. (22 Nm).
    3. Right bank to 16 ft. lbs. (22 Nm).
    4. Left bank to 16 ft. lbs. (22 Nm).
    5. Right bank to 16 ft. lbs. (22 Nm).

Right front upper timing belt cover and bracket and torque the bolts to 10 ft. lbs. (15 Nm)
      PCV hose
Fuel rail assembly and torque the bolts to 102 inch lbs. (12 Nm)
      Vacuum hose
      Fuel supply and return hoses
