Exhaust Manifold Removal on Chrysler Pt Cruiser?

The details to replace Chrysler Exhaust Manifold.

The complete step by step details with diagrams.

The procedure to remove/install Exhaust manifold is as follows:----


FOR Turbocharged Engines
The exhaust manifold on turbocharged model is removed as an assembly with the turbocharger.


AND
FOR Non-Turbocharged Vehicles the details are as follows:-----

  1. Remove or disconnect the following:

    The negative battery cable
    The air cleaner assembly and bracket
    The throttle and speed control cables
    The Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor electrical connector
    The power steering reservoir, move it aside. DO NOT disconnect the fluid lines.
    The coolant recovery bottle
    The exhaust manifold upper heat shield
    The exhaust pipe from the manifold
    The engine wiring heat shield
    The manifold support bracket
    The lower exhaust manifold heat shield
    The upstream Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO 2 S) connector
    The exhaust manifold and discard the gasket
  2. Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces.
To install:

Fig. Torque the exhaust manifold bolts in sequence
  1. Install or connect the following:

    The new gasket
    The exhaust manifold and torque the bolts, in sequence, to 17 ft. lbs. (23 Nm)
    The alternator bracket bolt, if loosened
    The exhaust manifold heat shields and torque the bolts to 105 inch lbs. (12 Nm)
    The exhaust manifold support bracket
    The engine wiring heat shield
    The upstream HO 2 sensor wiring connector
    The exhaust pipe to the manifold and torque the bolts to 21 ft. lbs. (28 Nm)
    The coolant recovery bottle
    The power steering pump reservoir
    The MAP sensor connector
    The throttle and speed control cables
    The air cleaner bracket and assembly
    The negative battery cable
  2. Start the vehicle and check for leaks, repair if necessary.
