Chrysler Timing Belt Rear Cover Removal Procedure?

Chrysler Pacifica rear timing belt cover replacement details and procedure with help diagrams is mentioned in this chapter.


Timing Belt Rear Cover
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION is as follows:----


  1. Properly relieve the fuel system pressure.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  3. Remove timing belt.
  4. Remove camshaft sprockets.
  5. Remove rear timing belt cover bolts.
  6. Remove the rear cover.

To install:

NOTE
The rear timing belt cover has O-rings to seal the water pump passages to cylinder block. Do not reuse the O-rings.

  1. Clean rear timing belt cover O-ring sealing surfaces and grooves. Lubricate new O-rings with Mopar® Dielectric Grease or equivalent to facilitate assembly.
  2. Position NEW O-rings on cover.
  3. Install rear timing belt cover. Tighten bolts to the following specified torque:

    M10 bolts: 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm)
    M8 bolts: 20 ft. lbs. (28 Nm)
    M6 bolts: 105 inch lbs. (12 Nm)
  4. Install camshaft sprockets.
  5. Install timing belt.
