Accessory Drive Belts Removal on Chrysler Pacifica?

In this chapter details are provided to replace Accessory Drive Belts on Chrysler car models.

The Chrysler Pacifica Engine belt removal.

In this chapter complete drive belt details are provided for adjusting,inspecting replacing and drive belt diagrams.


Adjustment:--
The tension of the drive belts on these vehicles is maintained by automatic tensioners. No adjustments are necessary.


Inspection



Belt replacement under any or all of the following conditions is required:


Excessive wear
Frayed cords
Severe glazing

Poly-V Belt system may develop minor cracks across the ribbed side (due to reverse bending). These minor cracks are considered normal and acceptable. Parallel cracks are not acceptable and require belt replacement.

NOTE
Do not use any type of belt dressing or restorer on Poly-V Belts.

Removal & Installation



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  3. Remove the drive belt shield. 
    CAUTION
    Never allow drive belt tensioner to snap back, as damage to tensioner and/or personal injury could result.

  4. Position a wrench on the belt tensioner lug.
  5. Release belt tension by rotating the tensioner counterclockwise.

  6. Remove the drive belt.
  7. Carefully return tensioner to its relaxed position.
To install:
  1. Route and position the drive belt onto all pulleys, except for the crankshaft.
  2. Rotate belt tensioner counterclockwise until belt can be installed onto the crankshaft pulley. Slowly release belt tensioner.
  3. Verify belt is properly routed and engaged on all pulleys.
  4. Install drive belt shield and lower vehicle.
