Replace Ford E series Oil Pump?

The oil pump replacing for Ford E series vehicles are as follows: -----


Oil Pump
INSPECTION
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION instructions are as follows:----


Inspection



6.0L Engine
  1. Inspect the oil pump for excessive metal particles.
  2. Inspect the oil pump for gouging, cracks or deep scratches.
  3. Inspect the oil pump inner and outer gear rotors for damage or excessive wear.
  4. Using a straightedge and the Feeler Gauge Set, measure the height clearance between the oil pump housing and the inner and outer rotors. If the measurement does not meet specifications, install new gerotors as a set.

  5. Using the Feeler Gauge Set, measure the clearance between the outer rotor and the oil pump housing. If the measurement does not meet specifications, install new gerotors as a set.

Removal & Installation



4.6L, 5.4L & 6.8L Engines
Specific to:
Ford E-150 2008-2009
Ford E-250 2008-2009
Ford E-350 Super Duty 2008-2009
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  3. Remove the oil pan. For additional information, refer to the following section, -Oil Pan, Removal & Installation.-
  4. Remove the crankshafts sprocket. For additional information, refer to the following section, -Timing Chain and Sprockets, Removal & Installation.-
  5. Remove the bolts and oil pump.
To install:
  1. Clean and inspect the mating surfaces, lubricate the new O-ring with clean engine oil and install a new O-ring seal.
  2. Install the oil pump and tighten bolts in sequence to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).

  3. Install the crankshaft sprocket.
  4. Install the oil pan.
  5. Start the engine and check for leaks.
6.0L Engine
Specific to:
Ford E-350 Super Duty 2008-2009
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2. Remove the crankshaft front seal. For additional information, refer to the following section, -Crankshaft Front Seal, Removal & Installation.-
  3. Remove the five bolts and the oil pump cover.
  4. Matchmark and remove the inner and outer gerotors.
To install:
  1. Lubricate the inner gear with clean engine oil and install onto the crankshaft. Lubricate the outer gear with clean engine oil and mesh with the inner gear rotor in the oil pump housing.
  2. Install a new O-ring seal and install the oil pump cover. Tighten the mounting bolts to 115 ft. lbs. (13 Nm).
  3. Install the crankshaft front seal.
